frame swap question

ok,, im not totally sure which thread this should go in so please forgive me if its in the wrong one..

my question is.. my dad has a 1994 5.7l 1500 ext cab short box chevy truck.. he found a 1995 6.5l td 2500 regular cab long box... what would i be looking into and/or can i pull the ext cab short box off of his truck and mount it on the 2500 reg cab long box frame... or would it be easier to do the engine/suspension swap onto his 94???

reason behind all of this is he loves my diesel and wants one of his own.. and he found a great deal on this diesel but he wants to keep his ext cab

ext cab wont work on the long box frame, do the drivetrain swap
