Just read an article stating gm didn't change trucks to roller cams until 1995. Can anyone confirm this?

Vortec engines, that were first in trucks/SUV’s in 1995, had roller cams and lifters I believe.

96+ vortecs had roller cams but most tbi blocks were machined for a roller cam before 96 was all tbi with flat tappet

I have been into several 90-94 truck blocks. NONE had the bosses to be tapped for the spider to be bolted to and the blocks are not clearanced for the link bars

Can confirm what hipster said. The typical truck TBI blocks were not cast with the bosses for rollers.
