Firewall Thickness

How thick is the firewall? I'm looking at drilling through the passenger side to run a wire through. Can someone show me on a picture the easiest place to drill and come out inside the cab.

I'm guessing about .030-.040" Where are you hooking up inside the cab? Left side or right?

When I installed my remote entry/start in my truck I had to run a wire through to get a tach wire, really no need to drill a hole.

No, I tapped into the white tach wire off of the coil.

I’ll try and get a picture. It was all the way to left on driver’s side, there’s a factory penetration. Kinda, up behind Parking Brake.

Not sure what truck you have but on my 91 there is a white wire with a connector coming off the coil that you can plug into for a tach drive. I'm guessing it's for diagnostics.
