Thinking about having fender mounted CB antenna instead of a roof mounted one. The Cobra magnetic mount antenna I have is rusting and causing a bad ground. I have two 3 foot FireStiks laying around that I can use. Has anybody had good luck with a driver's side fender mounted CB antenna?

Both my trucks I'm using stainless fender mounts and dual whips. I've ran 2', 3' and 4' sizes over the years, I think 3' is about the most proportional. I'm currently running 4' on my dually as one is actually a 2M radio antenna and due to their make that is how tall it is so I matched the CB antenna to it.

Be sure you screw to the bottom and side of the bracket, and get a quality spring.

Thanks for the responses. Did you end up using a mirror mount on the fender between the hood and fender? Or are they too thick to be bolted there?
