1995 GMC RCSB is the truck. Needing a photo of the antenna lead that runs from the back of the OEM deck out to the inner fender well where it connects to the lead that is going to the mast mount on the fender. The photo I'm looking for is the end of the lead thats comes from the radio. When I bought the truck in June of this year I didn't check the radio for operation, when I did, it works fine except for bad signal strength, which lead me to checking the antenna leads and finding that the 2 ends (located at the inner fender well) where not connected, tried pushing them together but with no luck!? Both ends are of the same diameter!? What am I missing!? This is kinda screwy, hence the need for a pic of the end of that lead that runs from the radio to the connection point in the engine bay, I believe that the lead from the mast (fender mount) is correct, as the rubber boot is in tack and not hard or anything like that, it seems like the other lead is missing something, it is not cut or frayed, it seems oem, but the 2 will not go together! Any info would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply's, I'm sure that the radio is oem as far as the antenna lead from the radio out to the fender I'm pretty sure that is oem as well, always a chance that its not, but it appears to be oem from the slight discoloring of it that goes with the rest of the plastic and wiring under the hood "normal" wear and age, as far as the antenna mount that is attached to the fender it appears to be factory as well, but could've been replaced at some point under the PO care. No corrosion that I can see, southwestern truck its whole life. I will take a pic and see what you guys think, should've done that in the first post:pp:!

Yeah, looks like it’s missing the male end on the fender side. Here are the part numbers, maybe it will help tracking down the part. It looks like two versions were used.

Mine is a 98, so probably the second design:

That fender has been painted, antennae probably came with it. Looks like 1st design truck side and 2nd design fender side.

Thanks East302 for the pic's/ thousand words there, those part #'s should steer me in the right direction. Orpedcrow would have to agree with your assessment on the truck side 1st design/2nd design for the fender side, so it shouldn't be a big deal to get this fixed. By the looks of it, I should be able to just buy the fender side with the male end that is happier as noted by RichLo, problem solved! Thanks again guys for the help and great info!!

Just updating, replaced fender mount antenna lead and the radio works great!! Thanks for everybody's help and info with this, to some it might seem trivial, but my OCD gets the best of me at times, now I'll be ready for a radio upgrade, wished my heating problem was this easy to fix, but I got a lot of excellent info on that to help get it sorted out!
