Do gen 4 V8 F body Torque converters fit vortec (mines L31 97 yukon 1500 4x4) 4l60e flex plates? I found a good deal on a new TC I need for my build but it goes to a 4th gen Fbody.

The simple answer is no. There's an adapter and whatnot from Scoggin_dickey, but probably pushes it out of the budget.

Heres my build im sure its with in budget . Im at the end of a 383 forged scat crank 6in rod stroker W/ forged -24cc wiseco pistons , 24x conversion , mpfi single plane intake , seimens deka 80# injectors , 1200 cfm 4brl throttle body , dart platinum heads comp cams XFI cam and magnumn XD roller rockers for a compression ratio of 8:5.1 pushing 20 psi. Using HP tunners for tuning.
But the good thing is Im a machinist so theres a great chance I could make the adapter.
You do know im asking about the torque converter and not the whole tranny correct?
Got a link?

Cheap as in 350$ for a 600$ torque convert. Its a revmax stage 5 brand new in the box .
I think thats a killer deal.
Thanks for the link .

Why would I need a whole kit for just a torque converter . Thats for putting a gen3 tranny in a gen 1 everything but the TC is a gen1.
The 4l60E and flex plate are the matching transmission from my 97 yukon , Im only asking about the torque converter by its self .
Im sorry if I seem confused its because I am .

Because the holes in the flexplate for a Gen I/II motor are slightly different than the holes in the flexplate for a Gen III motor.

Like I said, you can either slot your flexplate holes, or get the kit, or see if you can get the flexplate separately, I don't know.

I'm guessing one is probably SAE, then the Gen III went all metric, but yes, that's the gist lol.
