Im wondering about the exhaust, I know most run a 3 inch exhaust , but if I do 2.5 from the manifolds back would it be good? I have the 2.5 stainless tails from the 1500 I was thinking of putting those on.

2.5" would be ok. It's not the best choice for max power but if you're just building a cruiser you'll be fine.

I think im going to go ahead and order:
AcDelco:
Plug wires
distributor cap & rotor
Ignition coil

Fram:
Engine filter

Also, new belt and pulley belt tensioner and then the Throttle body tune up kit.

Any one ever try MSD or Taylor Plug wires, cap and rotor? I would like to have the red stuff .. lol

I havent had good luck with msd so ill never buy them again

Are you planning on doing dual 3" or single 3"? Because a stock truck doesn't need dual 3"

I wouldn't do single anything lol... either dual 2.5 right thrue no cats, or dual 3 ... But I have nothing aftermarket on the motor. All I was going to do is do a TBI mod, headers, cat delete and two mufflers. I may look around for some sort of tune with an aftermarket cam.. may run new heads too... I don't plan to build something crazy with this motor cause I want to change it to 6.2 or diesel one day.

Rule of thumb I follow. Dual 2.5" is good to around 500 crank hp and after that 3" dual.
