EGR and air pump

are the air pump and egr connected? as i am reading posts about heads and intakes i keep coming across egr running to the air pump but i don't have an air pump. there are no pipes running to the manifolds. it's a 95 suburban.

If no tubes on the manifolds then your truck does not have an air pump. The EGR valve is on the back passenger side corner of the intake manifold.
