Editing build thread?

So many moons ago I guess I use to be able to update my build thread on the first few posts that way people didn't have to dig through pages and pages to find out about mods or whatever. Granted Ive been MIA for a couple of years but I don't see the "edit post" button on the OP for the thread to update it. really hope this isn't a Noob question.

I think things have been changed so that you can only edit fairly recent posts. Once a certain amount of time is passed they're locked.
