4L60- not computer controlled
4L60E- Computer controlled

Point taken, and correction on my part. The 4l60 not E, does use a detent cable.
However, OP did state hes looking at a
"4l60e and a 4l80e"

IIRC GM changed the designation of the 700 R4 to 4L60 to bring the nomenclature in line with all the new stuff. 700R4 and 4L60 is the same trans. Easy to add the "E" without thinking about it when talking about the 4L60.

I think you’re right. My dad bought a new 92 K1500 and it had the 4l60. I still remember he was in a hurry because he didn’t want a 93 with the electronic controlled transmission.

Appreciate the replies, so I guess connections on the TBI itself might be different between the 2 TBI's ?
I will find out for sure when I try to put this 95 K3500 350 4L80e TBI on my 93 C1500 350 4L60e.

AFAIK, the only difference in the harness is going to be the trans plug as previously stated as well as the front VSS that the 4L60 doesn't use. The trans plug will have a 90 degree back shell on the 80 and the 60 will use a straight plug. Either one is easily repinned. Does you question pertain to the wiring or just the TBI? 454 got its own TBI, but as far as I know the 350s were all the same.

Pretty much so, later years TBs had a different TPS plug. And the IAC plug was different on SBC than the 7.4L. AFAIK the only difference between the 4.3, 5.0, and the 5.7 was the size of the injectors. They're all 42mm bore.

Truck originally had a 4.3 with the 4L60e, previous owner swapped it to a 350, then he put a carb on it, all the wiring is there untouched from what I can tell.

I want to make a 350 TBI with the 4L60e.

Should be easy peasy if he didn't butcher the harness. Just grab the correct PCM and distributor along with a suitable intake and TBI, or just slap an adapter on the existing intake.
