The throttle body port on my charcoal canister snapped off when I was removing stuff to get to my engine. Dorman replacement units are about $100 online, which seems a little steep just to eliminate some fuel smell (I also don't have emissions testing in my area). Has anyone tried replacing their broken canister with an alternative purge valve of some kind?

Do you have a salvage yard near you? Just snag one from there. If it is sealed up fine and it doesn't look like the truck was ever under water, run it. Otherwise, not sure of any other purge method. You don't want a smelly truck that's for sure.
