I didn't post these prior since it wasn't the same console but I believe they could be chopped in a similar fashion. Generally I wouldn't go chopping on a nice console but this one was beat, so.. needed painting badly and the vinyl on the lid (yes it's actually vinyl wrapped on the 95-up consoles) was separating a little; it was the perfect piece to experiment on. This was in my '94 3500HD project:

Dirty, worn, and beat.. "before" pic, extended cab console

Angled bottom pieces cut off and the console edges de-burred. I eyeballed it basically to where I cut off just below the portion that contains the rear slide-out drawer, although it will no longer be usable in a regular cab, the plastic underneath it holds the sides together at the rear. Now sits pretty much level.

View from underneath - I wanna say the rear mount bracket needed re-mounting in the new chopped area; hence the pop rivets seen, and my pop rivet gun box in the prior pic. No biggie.

Sitting flat on regular cab floor. Hadn't gotten around to restoring the appearance yet, just a test fit pic.

I love the red interiors! Found a parts truck with passable front and rear seats in leather. Started drooling, opened the door and about threw up. Slammed the door and kept walking.

I watch Vice Grip Garage on YT. He'll describe the smell of some of the cars that have been sitting for YEARS. Some of the descriptions are so accurate lol!!! Old Cat puke, a old pack of Marlboro reds soaked in water, and moth balls was the smell of the truck I pulled my current 350 out of. But hey, for a Goodwrench 350 with only a few thousand on it it was worth it! Even laying in cat ****! Yup all worth it! Hahahhhaaa!!
