im going to run the c2500 arms on my truck but swaping ball joints to k1500 so theres no modifying the knuckle it may be cheaper to get a set from the salvage yard and do the ball joint swap

c1500 and k1500 run the same ball joint, some c2500 (7200lb gvw) run the same ball joint as a c1500. worst case scenario, you will have to re drill a couple holes on the c2500 (8200lb gvw) arm

I have k1500 ball joints on my c1500
The MOOG brand K1500 ball joints are notched for more pivot.. no modifications period except you removing factory hot rivets to remove factor ball joint. All replacements come with new bolts to go into the holes left behind from the factory rivets.

Moog K1500 ball joints are the same as C1500 Moog ball Joints.

If you are wanting to lower the truck, take the a-arms and flip them upside down, then put the drivers side a-arm on the passengers side and vice versa. This will change the angle of the upper ball joint, and it won't be in such a bind. I wish I could load pics but my smart phone is stupid. I promise it works. Do a Google search on it, you will find a lot of people who say no, but then you'llfind 1 or 2 guys wwho've actually dine it

That just sounds like a really bad idea.

I thought the 8 lug 2500 and the 1500 upper control arms mounted to the frame differently.

Negatory... C1500, C2500, C3500 control arms all swap out, upper and lower. In fact the lowers are the same stamped unit. Uppers are forged on 8 lug 2500, and on 3500's (same part) - they bolt right in. Spindle swap required because ball joints are different, or swap the ball joint and re-drill the pattern, as described earlier.

From direct experience, not from reading what someone else said. :)

So the frames of the 8 lug trucks are different. The control arms are the same, but mounted in a different location. This difference is then made up for by the geometry of the spindle. This is why 8 lug outers cannot be swapped to a 6 lug truck. Well, they can, but it can't be aligned. Do i have all that straight?
