Your truck looks great! I used to run 245/40/20 a while back but it's how I ended up bending every one of my Centerline Smoothies. I used to put a lot of miles on that truck (the black C2500LD) and it's impossible to avoid every pothole around Houston, especially the ones that appear out of nowhere on the f'in freeways. That's when I switched to 255/45/20.

How much taller is that, cause my driver front has a slightly bent lip from I-20. Busted the tire as well, it was a pretty bad pot hole though

245/40/20 = just under 28" with sidewall height around 3.8"
255/45/20 = just over 29" with sidewall height around 4.5"

Also, the 245/40's I ran were Hankook Ventus forget which specific model of the Ventus but they were standard load passenger car style tires. The 255/45's I went to are XL load rated Toyo Proxes S/T so presumably the sidewall is stiffer.

245/40/20 all around -

255/45/20 all around, no changes in drop, fills the gaps better -

Also, the 255/45/20 is much easier to find in different tire brands as it's a stock late model Mopar size.

So when I need new tires, does anyone know if I could run something like a 305 or 315 size tire in the rear on a 4\7 drop.
A 40 aspect or a 35 series?
I know they'll fit the rims, buy would they fit inside the wheel wells?
Not near the truck. Just thinking that maybe someone already knows before I have to start crawling around with a tape measure.

Using Pirelli P Zero Rosso as an example and comparing to the size I'm gonna run:
295/40/20 suggested rim width 10-11.5", measured width 10.5", section width 12", tread width 10.6", diameter 29.2"
315/35/20 suggested rim width 10.5-12.5", measured width 11", section width 12.9", tread width 11.6", diameter 28.7"

Searched several brands and couldn't find a 305/35-40/20.

Honestly seems like you're flirting with too wide there, but I'll have to see after I mount up these 295/40/20's. Also might be worth mentioning this truck has the 14 bolt SF, I have never bothered to measure compared to a 10 bolt to see if they're exactly the same width WMS-WMS.

UPS managed to bone one of the 10's though, box is mangled, it's not really packed that well to begin with. Bead has a big ding in it and some scrapes from the cardboard. Summit is out of stock on 10's and having one shipped to me straight from the manufacturer...hope it doesn't take too long.

For what it's worth, I know the whole revision thing is a couple years old at this point but I did have Summit unbox the 8.5's they had in stock before I ordered, and they were all -3AA revision. These have the O-ring cap and larger center bore, just like the 10's that came in. Hoping for a rock solid problem-free fit on the front with the HD brakes (1.25" rotor) and the drop.
