Body side molding? Pros and cons??

I went through the same decision when I stripped and repainted my Tahoe. All the guys at work (I worked at a body shop then) said to leave it off. Initially I wasn’t sure but I’ve always liked the molding and it definitely protects the truck from door dings and damage. Once I decided to put it back on, every single one of the guys agreed it looked better!

i had the moldings on, had to take them off when i painted my truck and then put new moldings on after the repaint.

pre-paint job:
