300A ANL might not cut it with one of these.

But seriously I've never seen anyone running a fuse between battery and alt. Not to say it is necessarily a bad idea, I've just never seen it done. I DO run a 300A ANL in the power wire for my stereo, though.

300A fuse wouldn't be pointless IMO....Cheap ($4-$5 for an ANL) protection against a short

What gauge charge wire is he running? If it's like 8 ga wire it'll burn up before blowing that 300 amp fuse... I would fuse it for something less than 300 amps just to protect it from shorting the battery if the insulation gets damaged.

That's a very good point. I just assumed 0ga as that's what I've seen most people use.
