using all 1/0 cable except for #2 i think 12v to j box / 12v bus, will have;

1/0 Positive from Alt to Battery

#2 Positive Battery to 12v
bus bar

1/0 Ground Alt to Battery

1/0 Ground Chassis to Battery

1/0 Ground Enginge to Battery

1/0 Ground Frame to Battery

How are yall connecting to the battery itself ? Ive seen the 6 terminal battery tops , but reviews are hit & miss on them actually working. Any reputable source ? I had bought a 2 terminal few yrs ago for a different truck, and it came with a sleeve for negative terminal but even that wasnt small enough.

Any advice taken. Thanks in advance

There are literally 1000 ways to hook this stuff up, I'm always interested in hearing the creative solutions people have..

My method was to use Mil Spec lead battery lugs, there are 3/8th(+) and 5/16th(-) specs for the different battery post sizes.

The longer 3/8th bolt can be used with your standard 3/8th crimp wire lugs on that large wire.

My battery is a dual terminal. I guess i could get an extra long bolt / all thread. Secure it into the side post with a nut, then start laying grounds down.

I was looking for other alternatives. I know @kennythewelder welded 2 bolts back to back and essentially did what I stated above. Just wondering other options

Some ideas to help maybe :)

Also, OP, can you explain your bus bar and battery situation more? if the bus bar is where most of the truck is pulling draw from, and the battery to alt and battery to bus bar are the only connections , then you should have the Alternator connected to the bus bar and utilize a sense wire from the alternator to the battery or starter(I forget if the starter is to battery or not, so that depends on that too)

So only the starter and alternator go to your battery?
When i ran the new larger positive wire for alternator, i removed a #6 I think from battery to that buss bar. Then feeding the alternator from that bus bar was only like a #10 .

All engine truck wiring is bone stock in that regard.

The only thing extra i have added to the actual battery now is a 1/0 to my winch and 1/0 to alternator
