I seem to have a coolant leak? That just started. It’s on the passenger side of the engine. Any ideas from the pics above. First pic is from the front side of thee truck and second is behind. You can see a drop on the bolt on the far left in the first pic. It drips onto the exhaust tube below.

I would suspect the intake manifold gasket. If it hasn’t been replaced, it probably should be. Leaking coolant is nothing to fool around with.

Incidentally, I had a radiator flush several weeks ago and I just noticed this.

What year is it? Vortec 5.7? Do you notice your losing fluid?

Hard to say from just those pics. Caman96 gives a possible suspect. Could also be a soft plug on back of block or side of block. Do you have a block heater? Coolant leaks can be trickey to pinpoint because coolant can blow around and make other places wet.

Yeah. I kind of figured that might be the case. Guess I’ll be dropping it off with my mechanic on Monday morning. ‍

Go to a parts store, borrow a cooling system pressure tester from their loaner-tools program.

Pump the bytch up, look around with a flashlight/trouble light and an inspection mirror; or a fiber-optic camera.

A good tool to have/use. it eliminates one of the difficult parts about looking for a leak, HEAT! The heat makes it tough to poke around, and it also dries the coolant very quickly. It often allows you to hear a leak, too.

Yep! Mechanic diagnosed Manifold gasket. Rear part leaking and running down the back side of engine. He’ll get to it and have it fixed tomorrow.
