Air Conditioner service ports

I am on my 2nd set of AC service port valve cores and they still leak. High and low hoses are less than a year old. Anyone know of any tricks to seal them better? Torque values? Thanks.

Did you lube the seals with refrigerant oil before you installed them?

I have had to "excercise" the valves a bit at times to get it to seal. Just pushed it a few times til it stopped leaking.

They came original in new hoses but since they started leaking i have changed them with no pag oil on seals. Got new valve cores coming now. Thanks for the tip

Make sure they're not cross threaded. And anything goofy like nicks

Do NOT use PAG oil on the valve cores as it draws moisture and causes corrosion making it almost impossible to remove them later. Use mineral oil instead, and on all other seals as well. Plus you can get mineral oil at basically any pharmacy and it's cheap.

did you purchase genuine AC Delco valves? i presume AC Delco hoses would come with Delco low/high side fittings.
