About the suburban heater controls

I have a 97 sierra ecsb and i bought the tow mirrors with the heated feature. Now the real question do the electrical guys know if i run a relay and tap into the rear defrost button to the mirrors do you think it will work? So that it will be almost like a factory switch?

I think that would work! it should do the same thing as if youd run a regular swtich. This way here itll keep it clean!
