I have a 98 suburban 2500 4 x 4. There is a gentleman online selling 410 gears from a 2003 Chevy 2500hd. Is it correct that the front ring is 9.25 and the rear is 10.5 on my suburban? I do know my rear axle is a full floater but I just want to make sure I got the numbers correct.

Rear will work after new perches, but front is a different setup. Should be pretty easy to find axles with 4.10s in them, pretty common....

Info I have says that the '97 K2500 front diff is the 8 1/4" ring gear. You didn't get the 9 1/4" ring gear unless you bought the K3500.

Maybe things are different in '98.

Maybe I'm wrong. The front diff in my '97 '2500 looks bigger than the diff in my '88 K1500--but I haven't put them side-by-side and looked closely.

The Suburban was not available in a 3500 in '98. The 2500 was an 8 lug and had the 9.25 front diff.

Not the first time a "genuine GM" service manual has been wrong.

As said--my K2500 8600-lb. front diff looks larger on first glance than the one in my K1500.
