HEY GUYS WELL THE TIME HAS COME THAT I HAVE TO GET ANOTHER NEW MOTOR. AT 265,535 MILES
MY 305 FINALLY TAKE A HIT I GOTTA COLLAPSED LIFTER AND ALSO I THINK A BROKEN ROD.
SO I DECIDED TO GO AND GET A 350 TO PUT IN GOLDIE BUT WHAT I WANT TO CAN ANYONE TELL ME IF GOING TO BE DIRECT SWAP AND DO I HAVE TO FLASH THE ECM OR PCM . ALSO IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO KNOW BEFORE DOING THIS SWAP. I WANTED TO KNOW IF THE ALL THE ACCESSORIES AND CONNECTIONS ARE GOING TO WORK. I AM CURIOUS THOUGH I HAVE A REDONE ECM CAUSE MY OTHER ONE BAD CAUSE 1 PIN WAS BROKEN AND THAT WAS TO THE TRANS. CAN I JUST USE THAT ECM AND FLASH TO A 350 OF WHATEVER I GET THE ECM OUT OF.


WELL GUYS GIVE ME ADVICE ON T HIS SWAP AND WHAT I NEED TO EXACTLY PLEASE.

Direct swap and 305 pcm will run ok but need to either tune it for 350 or get 350 pcm to be right.

Ive been running my 96 off 305 pcm for few months and it runs fine. Im not worried bout it, it will last until i get the 0411 in it

Should be a direct swap. Like previously stated you may want to go with a 350 pcm or /reprogram yours

I recently did the swap, the throttle body was bigger on the 350 than the 305. The 350 has two catalytic converters but the maf will adjust for the extra cfm. Can't think of anything else.

I replaced the 5.0 in my '97 C1500 with a 5.7 from a '99 Escalade about 8 years ago direct swap and I never flashed the ECM cause the '97 black box isn't compatible with the flasher I have and I didn't change the exhaust, the 5.7 tune will be looking for a different o2 sensor layout due to dual cats, but its been fine and even passes Commifornia emissions testing as is. MPGs dropped from average of 15 to 13 though.

0411 is a newer ECM used in many GM vehicles that can be retrofitted into our trucks, I used one in my LS6 swapped '89 IROC-Z Camaro

IF I BUY AN 5.7 ECM FROM THE SAME PLACE I BOUGHT MY ECM FOR MY 5.0 THAT WOULD ALSO BE FINE TOO RIGHT. ALSO I CALLED BLACK BEASR TUNING THEY SAID I CAN SEND THEM THE 5.0 AND THEY CAN TUNE FOR THE 5.7. WHAT DO YOU GUYS THINK.

Personally I would just buy a tuned PCM from Black Bear and send your old one in for the core rebate since you won't have any use for it. IIRC their core charge is something like $130, total including that is around $375.

Its the same PCM, just has to segment swap the engine files from 305 to 350.
