98 K2500 6.5 F vin long box ex-cab 4 speed automatic.
I am replacing the shifter cable part #15037353 tomorrow and the end of the new cable is spring loaded with a retaining clip that you can adjust to length. I assume you assemble every thing with the column shifter in park and then pull the retainer clip and press in the white plastic piece to lock the length of the cable.
Do I have this right?
I am also replacing the shifter bracket that bolts on to the transmission due to corrosion of the pin.
Any advice would be great.
