That transmission could go a very long time. I'm the same way with fluids, and I think it's what's kept the drivetrain on my truck in good shape over the years. It uses a quart of oil in about 2000 miles of highway driving, but most of that is leaking (I can never get the oil cooler lines properly sealed and they always drip a little). It doesn't smoke at all, and the plugs stay perfect, so I know the bores and rings aren't very worn even after all those miles.

I cured a hard shifting (at its worst on the 3rd to OD shift) 4L-80E by getting the MAF sensor working again (the fuse was missing).

Popped my new Corvette servo in today. Sucks I didn’t get a test ride in it cause Black Bear just shipped my PCM and won’t arrive till Tuesday.

:gr_grin:Surprise this morning. PCM arrived at my door. Popped that right in. Noticeably more power! Not tons, but noticeable. Shifting is precise and not harsh or hard. While PCM was out like I noted earlier I added Corvette servo so hard to say which of these is having more of that impact. When weather clears I’m onto transmission fluid exchange, new filter and new aluminum pan w/Moroso 93104 gasket. Also, got GlowShift Temp guage installed!

Liking that pan.
Where did you put the temp sensor for the gauge, pressure port?

What did you buy for a pan?

I picked UNSURE on this one. I hope to speak with them on this one. Almost have to be a transmission specialist. I understood this somewhat but squaring this principle to the Hard Shift has me scratching my head a bit. https://patents.google.com/patent/US7651440B2/en

I have always checked "unsure" on that question. I asked them about that once and they said that (if you check unsure) they might alter that setting to match other stuff that they do, but not enough to cause damage.

Of course, when they said "cause damage", we have to realize that that is relative to mileage and abuse. The oem 4l60e in my 227,000 + mile s10 zr2 w/blackbear tune - I fully expect that trans to die soon.
