88-94 Dash question

Hey,

I'm gonna be dying/painting my dash this weekend, and I need to know how to remove the parking brake release handle and the hood release lever. If anyone knows how to remove em without breaking anything, I'd appreciate it. Oh, and for what it's worth, I'm using SEM Colorcoat. It's extremely expensive (bout $20/can shipped) but it's literally the best rattlecan I've ever used. Matches stock interior color and gloss like perfectly, and is tough as nails.

They push in from the front, so you have to squeeze the expanding tabs on the backside of the handle. You will have to release the cables from thier mechanisms first for them to slide out.
