Below is one of many sources i've found on the transmission differences... this post was the most techincal....

"Part number 24200161 will retrofit the internal harness and adapt the vehicle harness to the new type.

There is a major difference between 91-93 and 94-up models. The originals used a force motor that operated at 292.5 Hz. The 1994-current models use a 614Hz. force motor that eliminated the need for the torque signal compensator value and no longer required self-cleaning cycles. The programming and PCM compatibility for 91-93 models and 94-up models is different. 91-93 units also have a different separator plate. "

What this means for you, is even if you were to scab together some wiring to use the 93 transmission with your 94 harness and PCM, the solenoids and electronics in the truck wouln't allow the transmission to function properly.

You would need to pull out the transmission and have the internal wiring and solenoids upgraded to accept the 94+ electronics..
