hello guys....i have a 90 k1500 5.7 that needs a motor...whats up with these motors ?? i live in ct and cant find one used and if u do they want a ton for it..is there something special about them...can someone give me the skinny on them,,,,thanks bowtie65

Come down to Oklahoma. You can't walk through Pull-A-Part without tripping on one. On the right weekend a complete long block is $125, and that's only if you don't have three friends shoving their old motors at you.

Honestly, ask around, especially with your redneck friends. Someone has a motor they don't want. Check the you-pull-it style yards. If you need to, buy a rusted out parts truck, yank that motor, and part out the rest to get your money back.
