5.7 front engine leak

Have leak in front of engine. Would it be lower part of pan gasket or front seal?? If it leaks in this area.

If it's a front seal, the back side of the balancer will be wet with oil.

No oil at back of balanced. But I thought oil be seeping down from some seal there. , and not splashing out ? Thx for input on this!!

There’s got to be a seal on the engine and one on that cover in back of balancer ??

Doesn’t the oil pan gasket go halfway around the harmonic balancer? Maybe that’s what’s leaking. Only one way to really know what’s happening though………start wrenchin

I agree on that. Do oil pan first rt. Then if it still leaks tear the front off ? Easiest way out

On my V6 the only way to do the oil pan gasket, I had to take off the harmonic balancer, so I instead just put the pan back up. I didn’t even have any leaks to begin with, but I was already at the rear main seal and had the pan off already.

Ok yes. While uou there. Changed the seal. Now I get it more thx. Thx for input.
