I posted about my 96 to 97 4l80e swap well 96 -97 trannys are a little different mainly the cooler line location everything else is a direct fit well the problem was the tranny sat for a couple years out of the truck before I installed and after installation I filled the tranny but it seemed over full and would only go into gear ifi over filled it after some thought I removed and replaced the filter and that was the problem causing a low pressure condition in the tranny now shifts great was really weak going into gear had a long pause between gears and read over full on the dipstick until I changed it so I hope this helps someone else
