This is a thread created to share my experience with replacing my factory 4.3L V6 with a Blueprint 383 Sniper EFI. My motor is scheduled for delivery in 10 days. I’ve accumulated parts from the radiator to the transmission to complete this project. I’ll try to update this thread as the truck progresses.

My Sniper hasn't been flawless, but it runs well enough that I could daily it.

No exhaust leaks, no vacuum leaks! If you aren't meticulous, it won't run right.

Also, learn to read the handheld and what the TPS, IAC, A/F ratio, etc. mean and how they work together. You can troubleshoot a lot of minor problems without needing a separate scan tool.

Hopefully the trans is a manual trans. Else you'll need a trans controller or tune the factory ECM as a trans controller. At that point I'd ditch the sniper and go to a more expensive Holley setup with a trans controller built in.

My sniper has been pretty good. I had a bad TPS but thats about it. They say it self learns... well it learns about 80% then you tune or have it tuned the rest of the way.

I'm always tuning my base fueling to try to get it just right. I have my closed loop comp limits at 10%. When it's right you can just stomp the pedal and it doesn't have to try to correct as much for the weather.
