4.3 TBI timing not advancing

Ahhhhhh lightbulb moment.. definately sounds like limp mode. Does anyone know of a good OBD1 connector and software to read the codes? Also if anyone is aware of a TBI wiring guide, I'll try and sort through what I do and dont have under the hood.
