Ahh, I see. So if it is the cluster then the "milage" on the cluster won't really matter or cause an issue?

I did new blue LED's on my 97 Tahoe and taht cluster wasn't too bad to get out.
Actually did blue for the whole interior.

That looks good.

The "new" cluster will have miles different than the truck, which won't affect operation. It's potentially an issue if the truck is sold, but as long as it's disclosed I believe it to be okay.

Thanks. I don't think he is planning to sell.
He actually just sold his 2020 back to the dealer and made a good profit so his 2003 is back in service.

Here's the kit that I got: https://www.ebay.com/itm/273660438163

Before and after of my 06 2500 suburban:

The instructions didn't show the polarity for the cruise control light and turn signals. I installed them by trial and error.

Here's my 99 a local guy did for me. Photo doesn't look as focused though.

I "upgraded" to a 2500 cluster with the transmission temperature guage on this one.

Remember the 99-02 and 03-06 (SUV) or 07.5 (trucks) are different and not interchangeable.

The gauges on those trucks are a known issue. Stepper motors, plug-ins, solder on the internal connections are a few of the likely culprits.
Replace it. Take a picture of it and post it, I have a few. If one will work you can have it. No idea what the mileage will be though.
Here is a picture. Gas gauge works and the rest don't.
It's a 2003 1500 Sierra SLE.

Did you do the other areas light the heat/AC controls?
No, but I did see they sell the kits for that. My AC control lights are all out on the 06. It's got that auto AC module and it doesn't really work well. I watched a video and spraying deoxit on the knob internals is supposed to solve the issue. Maybe I'll do the LED conversion on it when I try that, since I need to remove and open it up...
