2 wheel drive conversion...help!

I have an 88 c1500 2 wheel drive my friend has the same truck but 4x4 the engine is blown and he wants to part it out....my question is could i take all the 4x4 parts and put them on my truck??

I think it'd be easier to put your engine into his frame/body.

His body is damaged id have to put my engine in and swap bodies also

yeh frames are different. not saying its impossible but not worth the work. now if you want to put a SFA on your truck you can take his trans/transfer case and you'll have a start there. Or install you motor and body on his frame. its all a lot of work though.

Front frame stubs are way different on between the two trucks.

Either throw your body and engine in this truck, or take a complete truck and make a solid axle truck out of it.

If you have no current knowledge of it and don't have a lot of fabrication ability I would even think about taking on the task.

There are kits out there to do it, but there is still some fabrication involved and You'll need to find a lot of parts.
