1998 hvac help

Hello! i’m a relatively new member in here (first post) and I have a 98 gmc 1500 and i’m doing a dash replacement as mine is cracked and the air only blows on defrost, i’ve tried multiple hvac switches and nothing has worked, i bought another 98 chevy to drive daily and blew it up, so now i’m taking the dash outta that but that one was starting to do the same thing, what can i do to re direct air and have that luxury again? is it something i can do with it IN the truck? or does it need to be pulled to access it?

If changing the HVAC panel didn't do it, then most likely it's the blend door motor. It's to the right and above the gas pedal. Pretty simple to replace.
