So I have lifted 97, 88, and 96 k1500s. All are on blocks and keys. I was wondering what the difference is without having to get under them between all my 1500s and my 2500. I went to buy a lift and all the ones bought for the 1500s say they won’t work. Is it a difference in keys? Or u bolt width, maybe just u bolt length? Or is it the center pin for the blocks? Just curious, because I have a spare 1500 lift and wondered if it will work on my 99 obs 2500.

6-lug K2500, or 8-lug K2500?

Axle tube diameter is larger on the bigger trucks. Therefore the U-bolts would need to be different to go around the bigger tube.

Front upper control arms are different; but I don't know if that matters in terms of lifted suspension.

It does, because they drop the arms. They also drop the diff, and that mounting is a little different too. 6 lug vs 8 lug anyway.

Aside from how it pertains to the lift, the 2500 frame is taller up front, thicker out back, and has extra brackets at the front and rear leaf spring hangers.
