Uhm, ok...

can't tell if serious and crazy... or kidding and trying to be funny. lmao

Lol it was a joke. I seen a story about a guy finding a cia/FBI tracker in his car though, and he removed it and the government showed up at his door. but he didn't pawn it or anything. This just reminded me of that.

OK. I took the grill off again. You can ditch the gub'ment conspiracy tracking thoughts. I'm starting to think it's a really old remote radar detector module. The wires traced back into the firewall but it's definitely not OEM wiring.

that is not a pmd, it almost looks like a airbag sensor but i could have sworn everything over 1/2 ton did not have air bags and i don't think it would have a bracket like that

i will tell you though, you have a stock oil cooler and lines which you should get out of there asap before you end up with a junk motor, get the kit from lubrication specialists, the stock lines use clips to hold the lines into fittings and they like to fail leaving you with no oil and a junk motor, i just had a buddy last month with a 95 diesel burb have that same thing happen and now that one has been cut up into scrap metal

Thanks for the heads-up! Never heard that before. I had them on my old K1500 'Burb for years without incident - lucky I guess. I'll look up the kit. Have a ton of stuff to do to this truck. All in time. And yeah, all the 95-96's had driver Airbags. The 97-99's 1500's all had both driver and passenger. the 97-99 2500's had at least driver as well. Some had the hole/glovebox thing on the passenger side.

(1) PMD/FSD heatsink (2) IP (3) #9 resistor (4) SSDiesel Exhaust (5) K&N FIPK/CAI (6) flush/change ALL fluids (7) tune (8) install GPS/NAV [in-progress] (9) new rims/tires/alignment (10) change front seat leathers (11) tint (12) 3-4 inch lift (13) compound the entire outside (14) change bumpers [front done]... I could go one forever. All while working two jobs and taking care of the fam. I dunnot when/how I'll ever be done.

It honestly does look like an aftermarket GPS device. But its hard to tell by just looking at a black box. Are there any numbers on the unit?

thats what i thought too after seeing the arrow point up on the box. Almost as if it sends the signal upwards, idk....

It could be a radar jammer.

No numbers or markings whatsoever. I'm leaning towards radar device. I'm gonna excise it.

Thanks all!
