Hello, I just joined this forum and just bought a 1994 Silverado and found the driver side freeze plug above oil filter housing is leaking. How do I go about replacing it? Never done freeze plugs before.
Thanks,
Kyle T.

Advice to install a block heater might be because it is such a crappy spot to access and install a freeze plug. I know my block heater in the same spot was doable but I remember a bit of discomfort, probably easier with a hoist.

I can see it perfectly fine from the drivers side wheel well opening. Removal looks cake but, not sure about installation. I want to ADVOID removing the engine.

As long as you can get to it, it is not a hard job. I have done the socket trick before. That works good most of the time.
