I own a 1990 C2500 2wd and I’ve been struggling to find a lift for my truck. It is currently leveled but I’m looking to go taller. My truck is 6 lug which means it’s a light duty 2500. Im looking for a lift between 4-6 inches. does anyone have any idea on how or where i can get a lift for my truck? Thanks.

The "other suspension parts" are not the same from my comparisons. The rear springs are much heavier, depending on which weight capacity and can have up to six leafs. Very few of the c1500 rear Suspension parts seem to to be interchangeable without modification.

Then your comparisons are of something besides a 6 lug 2500. The differences are noted in the post above yours. @someotherguy knows his shìt.

I think @someotherguy is correct. Like K2500’s, there’s LD 6 Lug 7200 GVW and 8 Lug 8600 GVW. Might be some extra frame bracing, I’ve heard of this, but never seen. I did have a 98 K1500 with F44 package, it had the 7200 GVW and 9.5 rear end but back then I never even thought of looking for that extra bracing.

TY sir.. yes having owned more than a few of each and tore into the suspensions I speak from experience.

I also find it a little odd to say rear suspension parts don't swap.. because truly you can swap rear ends, spring packs, etc. between 1500-2500LD-2500-3500 with ease. Springs are same length, rear ends are same width (providing 2WD to 2WD, 4WD to 4WD), etc. etc.

The K1500 F44 truck wouldn't have any extra bracing. That's the 2500LD stuff, and it's really minor. A little gusset here and there. In terms of engineering I'm sure it adds up but to the casual observer you likely wouldn't even see it unless you went looking for it and had two examples side by side to compare, 1500 vs. 2500LD.

Good point, gotta justify that 2500 tag! They may also have had a higher rated torsion bars. Have you actually seen these elusive gusset’s?

Yep.. as mentioned, I've owned several 2500LD's (C not K) and after having stripped down quite a few GMT400's to the bare frame rails I've noticed a lot of the little differences. Sometimes too busy to document every specific detail but it came in handy at the time when these discussions would come up, I could just go out into the yard and look up examples.

So I have a vin for a 2500LD, with torsion bars(6GG and 7GG/6970-Max Torque)and my vin for my old 98 1500(6GH and 7GH/7161-Max Torque )w/F44 option. I just looked up the torsion bars for each and my 1500 had higher rated torsion bars.
