Side Molding Option Route LA Custom Parts

Ha! Good eye. No! :D, I did not choose to mount them that way. I got dimensions and did drawings, and even reached out to kennythewelder and he was kind enough to give me the layout of his stripes which look great. (His truck was the inspiration for my truck). I took the drawings to the...

Battery Charger for Deeply Discharged AGMs

I think you are on the right track. It is great to have a 'dumb' battery charger around the house. I still have my Dad's old battery charger from the 70s as well as newer smart ones for trickle charging. If you are patient and want to save some money, I see dumb chargers pretty often on...

    Total electric power loss, intermitent

They were flexible, heat tolerant and most of all - cheap. A product of their times. Used a lot in older vehicles, but not now. Who wants to go on a burnt wire treasure hunt in a modern car ! ;)

You are correct. Thanks for the fix.

    Total electric power loss, intermitent

Yes you do. The video I provided recommends the fusible link 4 gauges smaller than the feed wire. (Example, if the Feed wire is 10 gauge, the fusible link wire should be 16 gauge.) Yes, there can be multiple fusible links in a harness.

    Total electric power loss, intermitent

A fusible link is a special type of wire, stranded, that is designed to melt in case of a power surge. It is designed to 'give up its life' to save the rest of the wires in the harness. You can buy replacement sections that you can cut and splice in. If you power cable looks good, I would...

    Total electric power loss, intermitent

I have had very similar symptoms on an earlier GM vehicle. Power cuts out intermittently, engine dies. Turns out that it was a stretched fusible link. Check the link from your positive terminal to the junction strip for too tight or loose. Similar situation in this video.

    Need help identifying noise

First things I think of are: -Bad pulley on one of the accessories -Bad belt tensioner -Loose, stretched or oversize belt. If this were mine, I would remove the serpentine belt and see if the noise is still there. Pretty easy to do. Video on how to: If the noise goes away, you have to...

    Tow Bar info Decal?

Why not post other pictures of the bar? That label is nearly undecipherable. If you can't get the info from the label, you might have better luck with the shape and design. Also, there may be a model label elsewhere.

    Average mpg

Not quite what you are looking for but I have an Extended Cab Short bed (ECSB) 2wd with a 305. I get about 17 in city and 19 Highway. Common factor is that I am also in NM! :)

    Alternator help 470 ohm

Yes, the alternator stops charging.! This has been a silly design and issue with GM vehicles that run the exciter wire through a light bulb going back to at least the early 80s. I have the same issue and use a resistor bypass on my late 80s G-Body.

    Losing hope

Don't lose hope. You can diagnose this. Here is what I would do if I were in your shoes. 1. Verify the battery. I know it's new, but take the battery or the truck back to Autozone and have them load test the new battery- just to be sure. 2. If the battery is good, pull the negative cable off...

    New Crate L31 Replacement Parts

This is not a CARB controlled part like a Catalytic Converter or EGR. It is a factory replacement part more akin to a crank sensor or distributor cap. But a much improved factory part. As PlayingwithTBI said, they would never go looking for this. With that said, you should have no issue...

    New Crate L31 Replacement Parts

I replaced my old poppet valve spider injectors with the Standard Motor Product MPFI. I could not find a Delphi set. The SMP one installed easily and works well for me. I made sure to order the gasket set, bracket and injectors.
