Brake Bleeding with All-Wheel ABS (2000 Z-71 OBS Tahoe)
Hey All! Do I really need a Tech 2 scanner to bleed the brakes correctly on an "all 4 wheel" ABS brake system on a 2000 Z-71 OBS Tahoe? I see some differing opinions here and elsewhere. 1 5/8 primary tube shorty headers without air injection

Welcome and WOW! That's an awesome engine bay! It's been a while since I had to deal with NY state smog regulations. I still have to get my 2000 Z71 Tahoe smoged out here in CA every 2 years - computer hook-up, sniffer, visual inspection, etc. etc. Can't imagine what would happen if he saw...- Wardi

As I think about modding my 383, I'd like to see more pics of the engine work/mods people have done. Just a idea. You gotta see this....383 timing chain cover....hole!
$10K installed. The engine was $5K ($5,800 now), and I had them add the aluminum rockers, they were $375, and nice factory valve covers that were $170. There was about another $1K of various parts, secondary ignition wires, replaced upper and lower radiator hoses, new water pump, etc. etc. So...- Wardi

Yea - I was 2 weeks and one small bolt away from "complete engine termination." That would not have been a cheap fix. While the original $10K in 2011 for the 383 hurt some, the $216 yesterday, with an A/C service and charge (first in 14 years I think), was not so bad. I guess living and...- Wardi

Yes. Everything that didn't come with/on the crate engine is just pulled off the original stock engine and bolted on the new 383, including the stock headers and stock intake. The catalog, the website, and a few boards that I looked at said the stock intake and computer would "figure out" how...- Wardi

I went the GM Performance HT383E way with my 2000 Z71 Tahoe. NOT cheap. $5K for the engine alone back in June 2011. I had 115k HARD miles on the original engine. I had a local dealer I was/am OK with (Community in Burbank), and I wanted the 3 year GM warranty, which BTW, just ran out. Good...- Wardi

Maybe just do the 295s or 305/70s? Yea I'd love to see pics of someone "at the size limit" for your/our truck and where they rub.
