    are you sure you got your crank back from machine shop, not hard to get them switched

    you need to stop using starting fluid , it drys out cylinders and too much will destroy engine , if you must , use penetration oil , i is oil based and will not dry out cylinders and it will work the same as starting fluid

    98 k1500 Oil cooler lines

    i agree , my 98 has original lines , i had a gasket seap at oil filter adapter so i bought dealer kit for 5.00 and new line adapters for 13.00 each, and at 206,000 mile still going strong with no leaks, no not a weak link in engine

    you have to have old one in your hand , as there is a part number for each module , last 3 digits on mine was 955 , but there are several and once you buy it , you cant exchange for another number

    i have a 98 , and my passlock module went out year before last , it was hard to get to ,(under radio and behind cd player ) but i did , and bought a reman out of st louis , mo for less money that the tune would have cost, they have a lifetime warranty, rock auto also sells them

    i think , and its just my opinion , that with information you gave, knuckle dragger was right , if it broke while mech had it , it was just a coincidence. after all he was working on transmission , not engine

    does fan motor change speed when you change speeds or change vents , if not i would also say blend doors,when it happens check other vents and see if air is coming out when supposed to be closed. there is one door controller you have to remove dash to get to, other two , not so bad
