I rebuilt a 4L65E Trans, that someone had pulled from a Jeep, but was putting it in an '05 Escalade. Never seen the original Escalade Trans but the one I rebuilt had no Input Speed Sensor on the pump.
He installed it and called me to say 1st is fine, but 2nd and 3rd gears flare about 500 rpm before if goes into gear. Looking back at the pics of the build, I noticed the Boost valve is not fully seated in the pump, the snap ring is on the highest groove about 1/8" from the top, I know it should be down on the next groove, would that cause his flare?
I will check it when he brings it back. Any other advice on what the issue could be, looks like some had rebuilt it previously but when I originally disassembled it, valve body gaskets were brittle and stuck to the valvebody and case and reverse drum was burnt and badly caved in the middle, which I replaced.
Let me know if you may notice anything I missed like the size of the 2-3 circuit hole in the plate.
