I would recomeend keeping it. 98 has all the right sensors and solenoids to keep it perfectly functioning with the 5.3Ls PCM.

im in tulsa if your in Dallas its a 4 hour drive in October it started running funny and shuddering and once I got off I took a look on the oil dip stick and seen that it was mixing with the coolant if you want to come and pull it you can have it for free

ive parked it ever since and I left to Mexico and came back in December
You'll need to vent the tank somewhere. On our 96 I hooked it up, but it isn't functional. Never smelt any gas though.
