My manuals only go to 1998, I will have to find a 1999 and see what the spec is.

That picture of the switch with the "Auto 4WD" button I looked up earlier was for a '99 Escalade, I think the NP246 might have been standard equipment on those and the Denalis.

Dexron 3 is no longer licensed by GM, but it's still made by several other companies. GM recommends Dexron 6 as a replacement in most situations, except in transfer cases or power steering systems that originally called for Dexron 3.

Like @Caman96 said, if you only have 2HI/4HI/4LO on the switch then Dexron 3 (Or GM part number 88861800 Manual Transmission/Transfer Case Fluid) is what you want.
Thank you for the info!

I’m just prepping to get all my fluids change since I don’t know when they were completed last since I bought the truck.

I went under my truck earlier today and checked with Transfer Case I have. Just says Model: 243G

This is what I’ve come up with so far, still have yet to complete the document. Any adjustments would be appreciated.

No problem!

If you haven't already, I'd recommend downloading the '97 GM factory service manuals in post number 92 in this thread.

https://www.gmt400.com/threads/88-98-service-manuals.43575/post-1286309

There's a section (Volume 1, 7D) on transfer cases. Page 7D-12 has capacities and torque specs, page 7D-2 has good info on identifying different models.

EDIT - Looks like you actually have a '98, sorry. Those manuals are available in that same thread, first post.

I’d cycle in all new transmission fluid as YouTube video showed. ONLY transmission too, no snake oil additives either. My 2 cents.
