I'm also looking into lowering a 4x4, my '95 k1500. Something different, and I want the 4x4 for the snow. Drop keys are the only thing I've found to date for the front. It's unfortunate so many people just hate the idea and there is very little information out there about it. I have keys and drop hangers waiting to be installed and I'm going to just see how far that gets me and go from there.

agree why would you do such a thing I can not understand it 4x4s are ment to be lifted not lowered

Sorry guy, I respect that you have an opinion, but opiniona are like azzholes: Everyone has one and they usually stink

There is NO SUCH THING as meant to be lifted not lowered. Ride height is only dependant on desired use, and I've got 4 uses.

Mud truck:
1/2 ton, 4x4 6" lifted RCSB, 33" R1 tractor tires

Snow plow, camper towing, family hauler:
1/2 ton, 4x4 stock height SUV

Summer toy
1/2 ton, 4x4 lowered 3-4, AWD converted street truck,

Daily driver, service body, mechanic tools
3/4 ton, 2wd 5" lifted, 35's

I would suggest a set of lowering t bar keys, a lowering shackle in rear and if you need it lower in the rear then remove the lower leaf from the pack.

Lowered and swap in the AWD trans like they did on... PowerNation? Rally truck at that point.

Yup, bought it in '16, a couple years before Powernation's Project Redtide.
1989 K1500, 5.7 TBI, Scottsdale, 5 speed manual, 38k miles, Whipple supercharger, stepside bed, 454SS mirrors, blacked out bumpers, 3 piece Intimidator tailgate spoiler, OE asterisk wheels have never seen winter.
Currently undergoing a frame-off resto

Also building a matching truck bed trailer. Stepside bed, matching asterisk wheels on a Trailer axle. Hoping to join the long haul gang on Hot Rod Power Tour by the time my son is driving. Matching bed serves to carry food, chairs, clothes, tent, tools, etc under a locking hard tonneau cover.
