Hey Y'all,
New to the forum as I have been reading tons of good info on the truck I just purchased.

My Truck:
1997 C2500 2WD Long Bed
Standard Cab
Auto
5.7 Vortec 350
262,000+ Miles
Rust is minimal which is crazy for my area.
White

I bought this Truck purely to learn and have fun with the occasional hauling of random crap in da bed.
So yep, project truck.

What do I mean about learn?
I have always done my own work on my cars and trucks but its always been basic stuff such as alternator, oil change, bolt ons and so on. I have no idea how to rebuild a motor, so I found this truck to pull the motor and rebuild. I would like to learn to rebuild the transmission as well but I figure one step at a time.

I will say that I have done a lot of suspension stuff and wiring in past projects so I hope that my dive into that will be smooth.

My main goal for this project to understand how to rebuild and to gain a better understanding of the overall workings of each part and how they work together to push this steel sled. Since this is a 2wd truck, I will be doing a street truck style.....progressively....budget build, not a rich guy by any means.

Does my truck have issues: Yep
Missfire - Been researching and my bet is on the spider......fun. Been researching mpfi and EFI, wow, so much information on mpfi but still looking up EFI which seems more interesting for me and my longterm goals.

Anyhow, that's basically it. Hope y'all have a good day and I look forward in meeting y'all and learning from all of you.

Welcome HillJackMcgee. Post up some pics, I'm a sucker for a regular cab long bed.

Looks like a good start.
Always liked those wheels. Wish they came in 17", I'd run them on my 2016.

Welcome to the forum the 93 WT I had, was painted the same way. I sold the 93 in 2009, and took the 97 extended cab from my wife. The 97 has been my daily ever since then.
