    Chevy Sneak Peek!

I did a cosmetic and frame restoration on it in 2018 and put new factory rims on it. They were not GM branded but exact replicas that have held up just as good as originals. Not a single blemish in 6 years. You can get them from a few places.

Nice—that is a steal…, literally criminal!! Check out Hagertys website. You should be paying way more then that.

    Chevy Sneak Peek!

Here is my 27-yr old Chevy. She is a 1998 Chevrolet K1500 Silverado Z-71 that I purchased in August of 1997. Currently has 120,000 miles with original paint and windshield.

Two photos of rear frame after restoration--huge difference and I am sure your truck could be just as good with the proper time, effort and money.

Great!! I am happy to hear that. I do want to tell you that after looking at the photos your restoration will highly likely require more time, effort and money than mine--not trying to dissuade you but just sharing reality with you from my experience. There is simply a lot that will have to be...

Your truck could look like this!!! Yes--I just restored this exact truck. It was a lot of work--took me seven months and $7K but it was all worth it. I watched a LOT of videos on youtube. I have many photos of the entire process and a handful of videos so I documented the entire process. My...

    Introducing "Ole Red"

E Kennythewelder--yes, the body shop I work with was really impressed with the restoration I performed and they said that was as close to factory as they have seen. I can tell you this for sure, the underside of this truck as well as the interior look just as good and as clean as the outside...

    Introducing "Ole Red"

Kennythewelder--thank you Kenny, nice to be a part of the forum. I haven't put her in a car/truck show just yet but plan to do so as soon as this COVID dies down. I have had quite a few thumbs up as well as a few offers to take her off my hand but no reasonable amount of money would be worth...

    Introducing "Ole Red"

Stumpy--Thanks for the post. I definitely understand you. For me it was a red Chevy or no Chevy! That victory red looks so good on this generation of Chevy trucks. I rode the truck hard on occasion but never put her up wet. I always cleaned her up well after a weekend of hunting and she was...

    Introducing "Ole Red"

BonetockK1500--I love your name!! Thank you for the post. I have upwards near 100 photos and about 12 videos of the restoration. I am trying to figure out how to post them. I think I'll put the photos in a few slide presentations with some narration. Give me a few weeks to put those...

    Introducing "Ole Red"

Outlawdrifter--yes--it is awesome being the original owner. It is very rare to see that after so many years. Typically, they have changed hands multiple times at this point. I will eventually hand this one down to my nephew to keep it in our family. He is the only boy in our extended family...
