hmmm, still though honestly for the work and time involved I'd just use my DS and yoke and just yank the tail, change the o-ring and be done. I guess it aint hard to find that o-ring? if so might be easier to get a new u joint and change yokes.

The proper yoke should be used. The transmissions are designed for vented or non-vented. If they could be swapped you would only find vented, or non-vented, not both.

that's not your problem, I think all yoke's have them. The problem is the o-ring inside the tailshaft that seals the driveshafy yoke inside from the fluid. When that o-ring is bad it let's fluid in there and pukes out.

Yolk that came with trans deosnt have a hole. its going back in.

u joint is far more work then swapping in the o-ring, but how the freakin crap is the trans made different for vented yoke and none vented?

I've been in a couple and that's whay I asked how the heck they are different LOL. I would think more of it being hit and miss as to which ones have a hole and which don't.

No it's definitely not hit and miss. I don't know which automatics you've worked on, but my guess it's all been of one design (vented/non-vented), or even one model.
