So a little machine work to the obs hydro unit and the rest of the hydro stuff and it should be perfect ay

According to that other thread that's all that is needed is the .2" removed from the booster an you should be good to go.

Excellent info here, guys.
Not sure, but I think I started a bit of confusion. I should make my original statement a bit more clear.
My '97 will get this mod done, & only this mod. With the 3/4t calipers. It's my DD, & it's on a dietary budget. No Hydro-B, yet.
The '98 is getting the Hydro-Boost.
Apologies to the OP! Didn't mean to send this off in a diff. direction.

Tried 94 suburban cucv with that MC. Yeah it's firm, but in the end only... it takes all the way from the top to do it. Didin't like. Replaced ABS module helped my friend's Hoe bring brakes to life.

I installed a NBS MC on my 99 OBS Burb today. Yesterday I installed the Powerstop slotted and cross drilled rotors along with their extreme suv and tow pads. While we were bleeding the system yesterday the OE MC crapped out. Thanks to this thread I decided to upgrade to the NBS MC. My brakes are better than they ever were. I am still using vacuum also.

This looks like a cheap way to give the pedal some more bite.

I've got 1-ton calipers on my K1500 already and I upgraded the MC to the JB7 unit from the original JB6. It's got bigger drums in the back cause of the semi-floating 14-bolt too. My question is should I still get the 1/2-ton MC from the NBS, or shoot for the 3/4-ton one?

EDIT:
Looking through RockAuto's MC selection, some 1/2-ton MCs are 37mm bore and some others are 34mm, where I can only find the 3/4-ton's in 37mm. I soon as I'm replacing the front brakes this fall I'll go ahead and put on a NBS 37mm MC and see how things go.

I haven't had a lot of time to look into this but I believe the ones using the bigger bore are hydroboost. If you use one of those without a hydroboost setup I THINK you will have good pedal but low actual line pressure which will decrease braking power. Larger bore with Hydro and 1 ton calipers you should be able to do a front flip.

Well, after doing a little research on this subject while I should be working I have found out that I actually installed the wrong MC. I didn't realize that 1/2 tons came with hydroboost. When ever I bought the MC from AdvanceAuto online I just clicked on the first non reman unit. It turns out I got the 37mm one which is for the hydroboost. Soooo.....Looks like I'll be upgrading to Hydroboost soon. Still stops like a champ though. I guess I don't notice the extra leg I have to put into it because I'm such a big SOB.
