That sounds like the way to go! so I would have to cut the coil? right? no biggie got a cut master 60 plasma cutter, then a good set of shocks up front and the bell tech in the rear, I'll have to check out that IHC set up out! Thanks guys for the insight on this, big help!!
How much does a plasma heat the metal? I'd use a death wheel to cut the coil. Heated coils suck ass.

If you were to decide to go 3/4 I’d go with bell tech front coils. There about 200 bucks. And rear shackles/hangers. That’s like another 120. I was just looking like 10 minutes ago for my 97.

I’ve never done hangers but, man, every thread about lowered trucks echos the same thing: doing hangers suck. I can 100% see why they would. If you’re dead set on that drop, go for it. But you’ll want more. Be like me: go full hog the first time.

Agree on the hangers. i would love to do 4/6 on my truck. Kits are a little pricey for my wallet.
$20 more than a shackle hanger combo gets you a flip kit from Tin Works.

That is the less expensive route, but there are some cons that need to be mentioned.

Drop springs (typically) are a stiffer spring rate to compensate for decreased suspension travel. They don’t make any compensations for geometry differences at their decreased height either.

when comparing costs, not only of parts but also labor (yours or someone else’s is still worth SOMETHING) consider the condition of the other components like ball joints and bushings. If they need to be replaced that’s an additional cost. All of the physical work needed to replace the springs also needs to be done to replace the control arms.

Drop control arms will provide the lowered height while correcting the geometry. They allow you to use a factory length shock absorber and maintain factory suspension travel while also replacing the worn bushings and ball joints.
